eBay NFT platform, KnowOrigin, announced the launch of its creator smart contract for its artist.
With the launch of the Creator smart contract, artists can split earnings and any royalties as co-creators.
Before the announcement, KnowOrigin emphasized that users have been testing the Creator contract beta release for the past few weeks.
84 contracts have been deployed on the beta release while 250 editions of NFTs have been minted.
Though the announcement has been released, all approved characters on KnowOrigin will be able to deploy and mint work on their own contract for public release starting for February 24th.
KnowOrigin makes it clear that the deployment does not require coding knowledge.

In June 2022, eBay acquired KnowOrigin for an undisclosed sum. KnowOrigin, the ethereum-based platform seeks to empower creators by giving them the ability to showcase, sell and collect unique, authenticated digital items.
eBay and NFT
eBay has enabled NFT listings on its direct marketplace since May 2021.
However, the company has not integrated blockchain technology to support transfer or crypto based sales on its platform.
In May 2022, eBay users were required to use in-platform messaging or email to receive their NFT outside the platform.
With the acquisition of the KnowOrigin and the release of its creators smart contract, eBay is tilting towards the full use of blockchain technology to enhance its NFT platform and marketplace.
